I have gone years living in an apartment without hanging any art on the walls. Sad – i know. It’s a little bit of laziness on my part, but sometimes it’s difficult to choose what to hang, where to hang, how to hang it…the list goes on.
The most embarrassing part of all of this is the fact that i’m a photographer. I have photos that i’ve wanted to print and display before, but I just never get around to it.
Once I got married, my “do everything the minute i think of it” husband took the reins on printing, framing, and hanging photos around our home. Thank the Lord for him. We are still building our collection, but the walls are now far from bare.
One of the prints we have hung up in our kitchen is a photo of mine: a plastic bag filled with vibrant oranges (*check out my blog post from a few weeks ago to read about the inspiration for the orange photoshoot).
The print comes from a series of mine titled, The Fruit Collection. Honestly, these prints came from a place of inspiration from my empty walled apartment days. I wanted to create a print series that was quality, accessible, affordable – and honestly, FUN. Something that a college student could have in their dorm room, a young adult could hang in their apartment, a newly wed couple could frame in their first home, etc…so I connected with Darkroom Prints and made it happen! My photography prints are officially for sale.
